Dorn Method
|
Dorn Method was developed in the 1970’s by the German lay-healer Dieter Dorn. It is an alternative therapy used to correct misalignments in the spinal column and other joints. It is related to chiropractic and osteopathy, although different in its practical application. Dorn Method is based on the correction of uneven leg length, which can be diagnosed in almost every human. The pelvis can become twisted, and this may result in a crooked or displaced spinal column. A non-manipulative approach is used to correct such problems. The body’s muscles try to hold and support the joints and spine, but when these are misaligned the muscles assume this 'wrong' position is correct and hold the joints there. The treatment uses motion to divert the muscles' tension, and in this relaxed state it is possible to realign the bones. Patients suffering from the following have been successfully treated using Dorm Method: Scoliosis (spinal curvatures), Sciatica, trapped nerves, mild to severe back pain, pain relief for Arthritis, Tennis Elbow. Patients often report positive results immediately after treatment. As part of the aftercare process we show patients specially designed self-help exercises that simulate the 'corrections' made during the treatment. For more information on Dorn Method click here

During a treatment, we use gentle pressure with the thumb or hand alongside the spine while the patient makes guided movements, such as swinging the arm or leg to distract the muscles.
